A short film about an instructor's whole class, campus, and (seemingly) world appearing vanished. As the director, I identified Absence's greatest challenge as holding a high-energy pace while keeping the story's verisimilitude alive with a constrained production. In response, I decided we would use the environment to our advantage: shoot empty wide shots from the windows of third-story buildings and blanket my actor's face in light from a classroom's in-house projector.
